Mistral AI is seeking Applied Scientists and Research Engineers to drive innovative research and collaborate with clients on complex research projects. You will develop state-of-the-art models across different modalities such as text, image, and speech, applying novel methods and research ideas to diverse use cases and domains. Working cross-functionally with science, engineering, and product teams, you will deliver high-impact AI solutions. We are a dynamic, collaborative team passionate about AI and its potential to transform society, with teams distributed across France, USA, UK, Germany, and Singapore.
Responsibilities
- Run pre-training, post-training, and deployment of state-of-the-art models on large GPU clusters.
- Generate and curate data for model training and evaluation, ensuring performance meets expectations.
- Develop tools and frameworks for data generation, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex use cases using agents and RAG pipelines.
- Manage research projects and client communications with research teams.
Requirements
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Expertise in PyTorch or JAX.
- Ability to contribute to large codebases independently.
- Write clean, readable, high-performance, fault-tolerant Python code.
- Demonstrated track record of success through personal, professional, or academic projects.
- Low-ego, collaborative, and eager to learn.
