As an Applied AI team member, you will serve as a Pre-Sales architect, acting as a trusted technical advisor for national security and defense agencies. Your role involves understanding the value of Claude and envisioning how it can be integrated and deployed within their technology stacks. You will combine deep technical expertise with customer-facing skills to architect innovative LLM solutions that address complex mission challenges while upholding Anthropic's standards for safety and reliability. You will guide customers from initial technical discovery through successful deployment, helping them understand Claude's capabilities, develop evaluations, and design scalable architectures.
Responsibilities
- Partner with account executives to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Serve as the primary technical advisor to enterprise customers throughout their Claude adoption journey.
- Support customers building with Claude Code, the Claude API, and Claude for Enterprise.
- Create and deliver compelling technical content tailored to various audiences, from technical deep dives to business value conversations.
- Guide technical architecture decisions and assist customers in integrating Claude into their existing technology stack.
- Help customers develop evaluation frameworks to measure Claude's performance for specific use cases.
- Identify common integration patterns and contribute insights to Product and Engineering teams.
- Travel frequently to customer sites for workshops, technical deep dives, and relationship building.
- Maintain strong knowledge of the latest developments in LLM capabilities and implementation patterns.
Requirements
- TS/SCI clearance required.
- Prior experience working with US national security (defense and/or intelligence) agencies.
- 5+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles (e.g., Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Technical Account Manager).
- Experience navigating complex buying cycles with multiple stakeholders.
- Exceptional ability to build relationships and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders (C-suite, engineering, IT).
- Strong technical communication skills, translating requirements between technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience designing scalable cloud architectures and integrating with enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with Python.
- Familiarity with common LLM frameworks and tools or a background in machine learning or data science.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Benefits
- Annual compensation range: $240,000 - $270,000 USD (OTE for sales roles, including commissions/bonuses).
- Visa sponsorship available for some roles and candidates.
