About the job

Anthropic is seeking a talented and driven Workday Business Systems Analyst to join our People Systems team. This role will own the technical configuration, testing, and operational excellence of our Workday HRIS across Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking (PATT) and Core Human Capital Management (HCM) domains. The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging AI and internal tooling to enhance People Systems effectiveness, questioning traditional approaches to find innovative solutions. You will be a system expert, providing both strategic guidance and hands-on delivery in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, partnering with various departments to ensure the HRIS is secure, scalable, and a business enabler.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain Workday Payroll, including pay components, earnings, deductions, pay groups, period schedules, and payroll-related business processes.
  • Configure and maintain Workday Absence, including time-off plans, accrual rules, eligibility criteria, and leave types.
  • Configure and maintain Workday Time Tracking, including time entry templates, validations, work schedules, calendars, and overtime calculations.
  • Configure and maintain Workday Core HCM foundations, including supervisory organizations, staffing models, job profiles, job/compensation structures, custom organizations, and worker data integrity.
  • Support annual and recurring People cycles in Workday, such as compensation review setup, open enrollment configuration, and organizational restructures.
  • Design, build, and maintain business process definitions, including condition rules, calculated fields, custom validations, routing logic, and notifications.
  • Partner with the Payroll team to troubleshoot configuration-driven payroll issues.
  • Apply strong knowledge of the Workday security model (role-based, user-based, intersection security groups, domain and business process security policies) for configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Support security and data audits by analyzing access patterns, remediating exceptions, and upholding segregation of duties.
  • Perform impact analysis for changes, assessing how HCM and security modifications affect payroll, absence, and time data.
  • Lead testing and adoption for Workday's bi-annual releases, assessing new features and driving rollout.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable system designs and document configuration decisions.
  • Build relationships with partner teams, acting as a liaison between technical configuration and business needs.
  • Support change management for system updates, communicating changes, preparing documentation, and ensuring smooth adoption.
  • Build and maintain advanced reports and dashboards, and support mass data changes via EIB.
  • Configure alerts, scheduled reports, and report security for automated data distribution.
  • Triage and resolve day-to-day system issues, focusing on root cause analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for AI and automation to improve People Systems processes.
  • Drive process automation and optimization initiatives with the People team and partner functions.

Requirements

  • Deep hands-on working knowledge of Workday Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking (PATT) configuration and design.
  • Hands-on working knowledge of Workday business process configuration and Security.
  • Hands-on working knowledge of Workday Core HCM.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong technical skills including understanding of Workday architecture, security models, and integration methodologies.
  • Experience with full lifecycle Workday implementations.
